Matthew McConaughey wanted as Randall Flagg in Josh Boone’s The Stand
He can currently be seen in Christopher Nolan's intergalactic spectacle Interstellar, and word is that Matthew McConaughey has been tipped to portray to villain in the forthcoming adaptation of Stephen King's The Stand.
The Guardian report that the True Detective star is in line to portray Randall Flagg in the literary classic that is set in a a world devastated by an experimental biological weapon.
The survivors fall into two camps, one under the saintly Mother Abigail, the other based in Las Vegas under recurring King villain Flagg.
Directed by Josh Boone, it is believed that The Stand will be a four film project for Warner Bros.
McConaughey currently has Gus Van Sant's The Sea of Trees in post production which is expected to be released next year.
