11 June 2015

With the female led Ghostbusters coming our way, it's been reported that Thor franchise star Chris Hemsworth has joined the cast as the Receptionist.

Taking to Twitter director Paul Feig posted a picture with the caption "our receptionist".

Hemsworth joins the new Ghostbusters group led by Melissa McCarthy, rounding out the cast of new Ghostbusters in the horror comedy reboot are Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones.
Whilst McCarthy will be the defacto "leader" of the new team, Feig said "you need the one person that brings you into the group [but] everybody will be equal."

Ghostbusters is currently scheduled to open on July 22 next year, and Feig also recently shrugged off complaints from sexist critics surrounding the female-led film, calling it "misogyny" from "the haters... This is the downside of the internet."

Hemsworth was last seen as Thor in Avengers: Age of Ultron and will return to cinemas with Ed Helms in Vacation on August 21 and will soon be filming Thor: Ragnarok which is intended for a 2017 release.
