Melissa George is against Plastic Surgery for Vanity

11 September 2011

Australian hottie Melissa George who can currently be seen as Alison in the action thriller A Lonely Place to Die has spoken out against plastic surgery saying that the results tend to make people look worse.

The gorgeous actress who is well known for her role of Angel in long running Aussie soap Home and Away doesn't understand why people put themselves through so much pain for the sake of beauty.

Speaking to Cover Media she said "The world has bad plastic surgery, it's called plastic surgery. Of course you're not going to look good."

However, the actress who will next be seen in Dan Mirvish's drama Between Us with Julia Stiles admits that plastic surgery can have an important role adding "If someone needs surgery after an accident, I'm a big supporter of that, but I don't know why everyone wants to look like the Joker!"

Speaking of her own beauty regime, which she keeps to a minimum, she said "I wear sunscreen and I have a very strong chemical peel about once every two years, nothing much else as my face is so full anyway - it's like a chubby little face!"

George also returns to the small screen on the BBC with upcoming show The Slap as Rosie which airs in October.
