MGM and Sony Pictures set to distribute Sam Mendes’ Bond 23

14 April 2011

This'll make Daniel Craig happy! The long awaited return to cinema for 007 will be distributed by Sony Pictures Entertainment.

The two studios announced in a joint press release today that the 23rd James Bond adventure with the working title of Bond 23 will be financed by Sony and MGM and will arrive in cinemas on November 9 2012 directed by Sam Mendes.

“After successfully working on the re-launch of the James Bond franchise with Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, we could not be more proud or privileged to continue our association with Barbara Broccoli, Michael G. Wilson, Daniel Craig, and the talented teams at EON and MGM.” Sony co-chair Amy Pascal said in the statement.

While there are no plot details yet for Bond 23, this is certainly good news for James Bond fans after the will they/won't they upheaval that was seen during MGM's financial crisis.
