Michael Fassbender joins Brendan Gleeson’s directorial debut At Swim-Two-Birds

The cast of Brendan Gleeson's directorial debut At Swim-Two-Birds has just added another well known actor to its ranks in the form of Michael Fassbender.
Based on the 1939 novel by Flann O'Brien, the story concerns a student who is writing a couple of stories that begin to intertwine, before the characters decide to rebel against their creator.
Sources suggest that it isn't the easiest of adaptations to pull off with its complex meta-plot defying easy summarisation but Gleeson is tackling it head on.
With other well known Irish actors like Gabriel Byrne, Colin Farrell and Cillian Murphy already attached and Gleeson and his son Dormhall set to star, At Swim-Two-Birds is expected to shoot in spring 2012.
As for Gleeson he will next be seen alongside Don Cheedle in The Guard from writer and director John Michael McDonagh when it comes to cinemas on August 19 and Fassbender will next be seen with Mia Wasikowska in Cary Fukunaga's Jane Eyre when it comes to cinemas on September 9.
