Michael Rooker discusses Yondu in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy filming and Michael Rooker who takes on the role of Yondu has spoken about his forthcoming role and hints at further instalments in the franchise.
In Marvel Comics lore Yondu was a founding member of the original Guardians of the Galaxy, however the film incarnation will have some changes and talking to SuperHeroHype at the recent Dragon Con, Rooker said "When I first got the role of Yondu, Gunn was like, 'Don't read any of the comics!' but It's beautiful stuff. Whenever you do a film of comic book characters and stuff you don't know how much you can show, you don't know how much is going to be brought out. Nowadays movies are done and they already have two or three others planned out. So stuff you do in this one, you ask "Why aren't we doing this?" and they say, "Well be patient!"
Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy opens on August 1 2014 and features Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Ophelia Lovibond, Michael Rooker, Lee Pace, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, Karen Gillan, Benicio Del Toro, Djimon Hounsou, Gregg Henry, Vin Diesel and the newly confirmed Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccon.
