Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort and Dave Franco among the names shortlisted to be the young Han Solo for Phil Lord and Chris Miller
With a Star Wars spinoff centring on beloved smuggler Han Solo coming to Cinemas in 2018 from Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, it has been reported that Disney and Lucasfilm have got their shortlist of Actors to portray the iconic character.
After seeing thousands of actors between the ages of 17 and 34, Variety report that the shortlist is Whiplash’s Miles Teller, The Fault in Our Stars star Ansel Elgort, Now You See Me 2’s Dave Franco, Transformers: Age of Extinction’s Jack Reynor, Suicide Squad’s Scott Eastwood, Fury’s Logan Lerman, Brooklyn star Emory Cohen and Everybody Wants Some actor Blake Jenner to be the young Han Solo.
The film does not shoot until next January, but with NDAs and test deals still being worked out, with a decision expected in the next couple of weeks.
It is also believed that with a decision on the young Han Solo coming in the next few weeks that the character will be introduced in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story which still has a month of shooting to go and is supposed to be set between “Episode III” and “Episode IV,” making this new Han Solo age appropriate for an appearance in the film.
