Mirror Mirror babe Lily Collins wanted as Mia in Diablo Cody’s The Evil Dead
With her star rising and racking up lead roles in the likes of The Blind Side, Priest, Abduction and the forthcoming adaptation of The Mortal Instruments, Lily Collins is in talks to lead the remake of Sam Raimi's cult classic The Evil Dead.
According to Bloody Disgusting Collins is in final talks to take on the role of Mia, who for all intents and purposes is the new Ash in a story that finds a group of friends who head to a remote cabin where they unleash evil forces from the Book of the Dead and one by one they become possessed.
The new film written by Juno scribe Diablo Cody and directed by Fede Alvarez also has a subplot involving Mia on the trip to detox after a battle with drugs - which factors into people not believing her when she tries to get some outside help.
Raimi's Ghost House company are overseeing proceedings and word is they kick off shooting in New Zealand in March.
Meanwhile Collins is filming Craig Zisk's comedy drama The English Teacher with Julianne Moore and will return to cinemas in Tarsem Singh's Mirror Mirror: The Untold Adventures of Snow White which hits cinemas on March 16.
