Much-Anticipated F•R•I•E•N•D•S Reunion Special To Stream On WarnerMedia Entertainment’s HBO MAX Delayed Due To Covid-19
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the FRIENDS reunion special has halted production and aims to finish at the end of the summer for an autumn launch. This one-off event will stream on WarnerMedia Entertainment's newly-created service HBO MAX.
The unscripted special will feature the original Friends cast, JENNIFER ANISTON, COURTNEY COX, LISA KUDROW, MATT LEBLANC, MATTHEW PERRY and DAVID SCHWIMMER. It was to be filmed at the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, California, in front of a live studio audience to be available for the launch of HBO Max on Wed, 27th May.
The special is also an opportunity to raise funds for COVID-19 relief efforts. In April, the cast agreed to donate six tickets for the taping to generate funds for "All in Challenge," a coronavirus fundraising auction site.
Friends was a highly popular American TV series about six friends who live in Manhattan. The show ran for 10 seasons (1994-2004) with 236 episodes. All episodes were available on NETFLIX in the U.S. from 2015 until the end of 2019, where it was removed to solely be shown on HBO Max. It is still available in other countries on Netflix, such as the U.K.
HBO Max will host movies and shows from other WarnerMedia Entertainment entities, such as Warner Bros. Studios, HBO, CNN, TBS, TNT, TruTV and Cartoon Network. The service will cost $14.99 per month.
