Naomie Harris overcame gun fear to play Skyfall’s Eve

With the 23rd James Bond adventure currently filming under the direction of Sam Mendes, Naomie Harris has revealed that her character Eve is a James Bond wannabee in Skyfall.

The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise star tells Total Film "My character would like to see herself as a female Bond, but I don't think anyone's really a match for Bond."

Harris also reveals that she overcame some personal fears in order to play the formidable field agent adding "I kickbox and do a lot with guns. I started off terrified by the sound of a gun, let alone having any idea of how to hold one but now I really enjoy it."

Harris is known for the likes of Ninja Assassin, Miami Vice and 28 Days Later, she was last seen in The First Grader and Skyfall arrives in cinemas on October 26.

Skyfall features the stellar cast of Bérénice Marlohe, Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Javier Bardem, Ben Whishaw, Albert Finney and Helen McCrory and sees Bond's loyalty to M tested as her past comes back to haunt her as MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.
