Deal or No Deal: Rise to Notoriety and TV Icon Status As TV Legend Noel Edmonds Returns With Noel’s Haven On ITV in 2025
With Noel's Haven reportedly coming to ITV and ITVX sometime this year, let's have a look at its star — Noel Edmonds — and what we know about the show so far.
Deal or No Deal: Rise to Notoriety and TV Icon Status
When we think of Noel Edmonds, chances are we all think of the iconic daytime TV game show Deal or No Deal. Edmonds was the host of the show for 11 years of his career, from 2005 to 2016, and even toured with Deal or No Deal on Tour later that year.
Despite the original run ending in 2016, Deal or No Deal remained a favourite of the British public, inspiring a wide range of different entertainment — from video games to board games, and even online casino games. Players in the UK can play Deal Or No Deal Lightning Spins and other branded online slot games across a variety of different platforms. The game uses recognisable icons like the banker's wax stamp, red boxes, and a telephone to make the theme immersive and authentic.
Thanks to this enduring popularity of Deal or No Deal, it was revived in 2023, this time with Stephen Mulhern as host. The interest in the format was not just well received in the UK either. The US Deal or No Deal franchise ran from 2005 to 2019, with Howie Mandel serving as host. This has also inspired spin-off entertainment, the latest being Deal or No Deal Island, which has just aired its second season.
Through his ties to Deal or No Deal, Edmonds has become a TV icon, so much so that he has often been referenced in other pieces of pop culture. Perhaps the most memorable of these was Gavin and Stacey. In the highly-anticipated Gavin and Stacey Christmas special-cum-reunion, Smithy's full name was revealed to be Neil Noel Edmond Smith.

Hiatus From Entertainment and Return To The Screens
After being away from the spotlight for six years, ITV announced in September 2024 that it had signed a deal with the former game show host, which reportedly came after the unlikely success of Prime Video's Jeremy Clarkson's Farm and Channel 4's Our Dream Farm with Matt Baker. The show will see Edmonds follow in Clarkson's footsteps, as he presents the series from his 11 hectare estate in New Zealand.
The location, River Haven, is in Motueka Valley, near Ngatimoti on the South Island. It is owned by Edmonds and his wife Liz, who he met on the set of Deal or No Deal when she was a makeup artist. River Haven is said to have a restaurant, pub, vineyard, vintage cars, parkland, and cycle paths.
The three-part series, Noel's Haven is said to be hitting our screens later this year on ITV and will be available through its streaming service ITVX. Unfortunately, that's all we know about Noel's Haven so far — but we are excited to see what ITV have managed to conjure up. All that's left to do is keep an eye on the TV guide for Noel's Haven's upcoming release.
