THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT : GHOSTBUSTERS : TWILIGHT : THE WICKER MAN : ZOOLANDER

With the final screenings of the summer season taking place this week, The Nomad is preparing to take things indoors for Autumn and Winter with some special pop-up residencies at The Hoxton Hotel, The LookOut in Hyde Park and the Hippodrome Casino.

While many pop-up cinemas head into hibernation once summer’s over, not The Nomad. Sunday 28th September see’s the Nomad continue with its residency at The Hoxton Hotel screening cult favourite Zoolander starring the really really ridiculously good looking Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson. Then the ghoulish journey begins at The LookOut, Hyde Park for a series of spooky screenings for Halloween. Slurp on a ‘Singapore Slime’ and discover your true vampire identity at the fancy dress photo booth or test your limits with the ‘unlucky’ dip before settling down to watch Ghostbusters, The Wicker Man, Twilight or The Blair Witch Project.

The LookOut is home to The Royal Parks Foundation, which raises funds to support a wide variety of projects from wildlife conservation and landscape restoration, to community sport, education and art across all eight Royal Parks. Each ticket to the Halloween screenings costs £25 and includes a glass of bubbles, a delicious hot wrap from Souvlaki Street Food, hair-raising Halloween themed activities and a fire-pit for toasting marshmallows. Plus you feel warm in the knowledge that the money spent gets split between the fundraising activities of The Royal Parks Foundation and The Nomad’s charity the Sustainability Institute.

Watch out for more screenings to be announced as the Nomad ventures onto The Hippodrome Casino for special Christmas and Valentine screenings, with more seasonal events planned at The LookOut, The Hoxton Hotel and more.

The Nomad – the roaming pop-up cinema that gives back.

The Nomad Cinema is a roaming pop-up cinema that gives 100% of profits to its chosen charity, The Sustainability Institute, in South Africa.  For more on The Sustainability Institute please visit sustainabilityinstitute.net Nomad film events embrace and enhance each venue, offering new ways of seeing an uplifting range of films, from classics to cult, noir and silent, to mainstream guilty pleasures. Playful, mischievous and mysterious, The Nomad wanders into town, unpacks cinema magic, and then disappears into the night, leaving no trace.

The Nomad is the pop-up cinema with a difference: a very special festival atmosphere, and that little bit of Nomad magic make our events memorable and unique. More than just providing screenings of great films in appropriately great locations, Nomad events immerse you in the magic of movies with quality catering, goodie bags with gifts from our partners and a warm friendly welcome…

The Nomad is the sister-company to one of West London’s most cherished local cinemas The Lexi.

The Lexi Cinema in Kensal Rise is the UK’s first social enterprise boutique cinema, donating 100% of its profits to charity and staffed predominantly by local volunteers. Founded in 2008, The Lexi has built up a reputation for programming bespoke film events sprinkled with added value including celebrity introductions, goodie bags, treasure hunts, half-time shots of whiskey, massive remote controls, and many other ingenious bits of mischief. With a fantastic screen and a kick-ass sound system (actually one of the country’s best), the beautiful cinema is chic and intimate, but can rival any of the big chains for technical quality.
