What Star Wars character do you feel closest to and why?
Warwick Davis says: “I think Wicket the Ewok has to be the character I feel closest to, and most grateful to, because it’s given me everything in my life and career that I have. It’s also allowed me to travel all over the world and attend events such as Season Of The Force that celebrate Star Wars. It’s amazing, even though I played that character over 36 years ago, I still feel like it’s something that I’ve only just done, as I talk about it so much and people still celebrate that characters. It was great that, during the spectacular show last night, I was actually projected onto that building, there was a picture of Wicket there which was really nice. I felt very honoured.”
What are your hopes for Star Wars Episode 8?
Warwick Davis says “If I had to think about a wish for episode for Episode 8, it would be that there was lots on me in it (jokes). I mean it’s an interesting thought, we’re in the middle of a story and sometimes the middle of a trilogy can be the most interesting film as we take what we’ve started to learn about in the first part of the trilogy and we develop that and then we push on to our last in the chapter – which is what Empire Strikes Back did very well. I’m intrigued and excited for Episode 8. I can’t get enough Star Wars at the moment. Were treated every year at the moment to new Star Wars. Every 6 months would satisfy me – but I would have to have a word with Katherine Kennedy about that!”
How important it is to have strong female roles in Star Wars films, such as Rey and Jyn?
Scarlett Moffatt says “You can love Disney and still be a feminist and I think Disney now, especially with Star Wars where there are so many strong female characters – I think it’s great! I think it’s shown young girls that they can be strong and powerful.”
Having conquered and won the jungle, how do you think you'd survive the Star Wars universe?
Scarlett Moffatt says “I’ve done some pretty gruesome things when I was on I’m A Celebrity, I ate fermented eggs, I went into the ‘Cavern of Claws’ with loads of rats. I feel that, if I was in the Star Wars galaxy I think I’ll be all right, I think I’d do all right with Jedi Training.”
What would have happened if you could have used the force in the jungle?
Scarlett Moffatt says “If I had been able to use ‘the Force’ in the jungle, I tell you, those trials would have been a lot easier – a lot easier! I probably would have got ten stars every time.”
Having achieved so much so young (fame, tv career, etc), what is the ultimate dream you are now still striving for in future?
Scarlett Moffatt says “In the future, obviously I can’t be a real life Disney princess, so I would love to carry on doing presenting, I’ve got lots of exciting things coming up and I really want to claim my part on TV so people thinks “that’s Scarlett Moffatt! She’s really good!” That’s the dream.”
Would you like to star in a Star Wars film and what kind of character would you like to play? (eg goodie or a baddie)
Olly Murs says “I think if I was in a Star Wars movie, I’d like to be a character like Hans Solo. He was a bit cheeky, a bit of a rogue and I think he was a superhero in a different way. I like his look and style – Harrison Ford was incredible as Hans Solo so I think I would like to fit the mould of him.”
What would convince you to turn to the dark side?
Olly Murs says “Nothing could turn me to the dark side. I’m a good guy – in and out – so Hans Solo all the way for me. I couldn’t go to the dark side.”
If you could go back in time and challenge Walt Disney to a lightsaber duel in the Disney parks – what part of the park would you have it in and why would you have it there? And would you or Walt win?
Olly Murs says “If I was to duel Walt Disney in a lightsabre duel, I’d do it right in the middle of Disneyland Paris. You’ve got Disneyland Park on one side, you have Disney studios on the other and we would meet right bang in the middle”
What words of inspiration woud you give to young Disney fans who want to follow in your career footsteps?
Olly Murs says “I’ve always said from day one, for any young fan that I speak to, is always to believe in your dreams. I believed in my dream to become a singer, and even though there were people around who said I couldn’t do it, I believed in it and I made it happen – made it possible. And I think that’s the great thing about Disney. They really emphasis that you can do whatever you want in life. You can have fun and enjoy it. That’s why I say to kids enjoy it, have fun, believe in your dreams and just go for it. Don’t take no for an answer and embrace life”
