With 2015 off to a flying start and following our Best films of 2014, here at The Fan Carpet we wanted to share our Top 10 Actresses to Watch in 2015.

We think these promising talents are quickly moving into the spotlight, poised to unseat the Hollywood establishment and become household names in their own right...

Ella Purnell (18)

Ella Purnell got her first big break in Never Let Me Go (2010) where she played a younger Keira Knightley. Most recently she played Angelina Jolies younger self in Maleficent and can be seen next as young Margot Robbie in David Yates’ Tarzan. However, the time is now over for her to make a career out of playing younger verdins of established actress and it was announced in November 2014 that Ella has been cast in Tim Burton’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. Ella will play Emma, the leading young female in the film. Shooting begins mid 2015.

Odeya Rush (17)

Odeya Rush already starred in The Giver with Meryl Streep, shes finished filming Sony summer pic Goosebumps she’ll play the daughter of author R.L. Stine (Jack Black), and has now been cast in action-thriller Hunter’s Prayer as Ella, a young girl who teams up with an assassin (Sam Worthington) hired to wipe out her family to find the person responsible. Did we also mention that she looks like Mila Kunis' Mini-Me!

Gal Gadot (29)

Gal Gadot not only landed the role of Wonder Woman in the upcoming Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice but she has signed a three-movie deal with Warner Bros. so there will also be a standalone Wonder Woman film directed by Breaking Bad's Michelle MacLaren, plus she will reprise the role in The Justice League movies! Before Womder Woman shows herself Gal can be seen opposite Ryan Reynolds and Kevin Costner in Criminal due for a Summer 2015 release.

Dakota Johnson (25)

Dakota Johnson stars as Anastasia in the highly anticipated Fifty Shades of Grey. She is the daughter of actors Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith. Dakota has had a few small roles in Need for Speed (2014) and The Five-Year Engagement (2012) but nothing compared to what she has in the pipeline. In addition to the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, she will star in Black Mass with Johnny Depp, and A Bigger Splash with Tilda Swinton.

Daisy Ridley (23)

Daisy Ridley is probably the least known, yet going to be the most known by the end of 2015. In April 2014, Disney and Lucasfilm confirmed on the official Star Wars website that the newcomer will be joining the famous original cast alongside Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill. Rumor has it she will play the daughter of Leia and Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens! Before this casting she had one or two minor roles in Silent Witness, Casualty and Mr Selfridge.

Teresa Palmer (28)

Teresa Palmer's career has been on the rise for a few years now, but Palmer may be ready to get to the next level in 2015. After taking some time out to have her first child she is back with some major leading roles in the remake of cult-classic Point Break and The Choice, which is based on the best-selling novel by Nicholas Sparks.

Mia Goth is a London-born actress and model, known also as Shia LaBeouf long term girlfriend. Mia made a bold entry onto the silver screen with her debut in Lars von Trier’s five-hour epic Nymph()maniac. This year, she stars in dystopian thriller The Survivalist, then goes Hollywood with a role in set-to-be-blockbuster Everest, alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Keira Knightley. She is also the 2015 face of Miu Miu.

Jessica Brown Findlay (25)

Most of us know Jessica Brown Findlay from her role as the beloved Lady Sybil Crawley in Downton Abbey. In 2013 she starred opposite Russell Crowe and Colin Farrell in A New York Winter’s Tale. Later this year, Jess will star as Lorelei, the female lead in Mary Shelley’s Victor Frankenstein with James McAvoy as the titular doctor and Daniel Radcliffe as Igor.

Maude Apatow (16)

Maude Apatow is the eldest daughter of director Judd Apatow and actress Leslie Mann, she is well known for her very popular Twitter page. Maude had a few minor acting roles in Knocked Up (2007) and Funny People (2009) and a bigger role in the 2012 film This is 40, as Leslie Mann’s character’s daughter. It was announced in July 2014 that Maude would be a guest star in Season 4 of HBO's Girls, due for release in early 2015.

Aubrey Peeples (23)

Aubrey Peeples, is best known for playing Layla in he US hit TV Show Nashville and also had a supporting role in Sharknado, we have a feeling she will hit Hollywood highs towards the end of the year, following the release of her first major film role playing Jem in the highly anticipated live-action Jem and the Holograms film, which is directed by Jon M. Chu.
