Online bookmaker Betway reveal Disney•Pixar’s Finding Dory 1/2 to be highest-grossing animated film of 2016
Betway are as sure as 1/2 that Finding Dory, which hits screens on Friday, will break UK box office records to become the highest-grossing animated film of 2016.
The sequel to Finding Nemo has already caused a splash in America, reeling in a whopping £93.4million in ticket sales in its opening weekend to become the highest-grossing debut for an animated film in the US.
Online bookmaker Betway believes cinema fans this side of the pond will also be hooked, quoting 3/1 that Finding Dory becomes the UK’s highest-grossing animated film of all time and 10/1 for it to break Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ box office record of £123million.
Odds compilers also believe Finding Dory will net awards for Pixar, with odds of landing a BAFTA or an Oscar priced up at Evens and 6/4 respectively.
Betway’s Alan Alger, said “Finding Dory looks set to be a blockbuster and we’re taking no chances by offering 1/2 for it to be the highest-grossing animated film of 2016.
Punters have even backed the film to be the biggest box office hit of all time at 10/1, so we could end up drowning in losses if the film goes above and beyond expectations.”
