Oscar winner William Hurt in talks for Jeb in The Host
Oscar winning actor William Hurt who is known for Dark City, A History of Violence, Into the Wild and Robin Hood is in talks to join the cast of the adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's The Host.
According to Entertainment Weekly the veteran actor is in talks for the role of Jeb in the film that centres on an invasion of aliens that possess the bodies of mankind and is directed by Andrew Niccol which will see Saoirse Ronan in the lead role of Melanie Stryder, a freedom fighter who has been possessed by one of the creatures.
The Host will also feature rising stars Max Irons as love interest Jared Howe and Jake Abel who will play love rival Ian O'Shea.
With a release date set for release on March 29 2013, The Host will start shooting in February.
