She was recently named the new Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider reimagining from filmmaker Roar Uthaug, it has been announced that sought after Oscar winning Actress Alicia Vikander will play Eva Green's sister in Euphoria, the first film from her new production company.

Deadline reports that Vikander’s Vikarious Productions, which she launched with her London-based agent Charles Collier of Tavistock Wood will produce three films within the next two years, with the first being Euphoria.

Euphoria is a co-production with Sweden's B-Reel Films and marks the English-language directorial debut of award-winning Swedish filmmaker Lisa Langseth.

Set to start shooting on location in the German Alps in early August, Euphoria will see Vikander and Green as sisters who are in conflict as they travel through Europe towards a mystery destination.

Speaking about the forthcoming film, Vikander said "It is a profound story about the journey of two estranged sisters, full of suffering but also full of joy, and squaring up to very important subject matter.”

Euphoria is Vikander’s third collaboration with Langseth, as the pair worked together on the Swedish-language titles Pure and Hotell.

Vikander won her Oscar for the acclaimed The Danish Girl alongside fellow Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne and returns to Cinemas with Jason Bourne alongside Matt Damon this July, she also has Justin Chadwick’s Tulip Fever awaiting release in the UK and Derek Cianfrance’s The Light Between Oceans ready for release in January 2017 and is currently filming Wim Wenders’ Submergence alongside X-Men: Apocalypse’s James McAvoy.

Green can currently be seen in the hit television series Penny Dreadful and returns to Cinemas with Tim Burton’s Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children this September.
