Pan’s Rooney Mara casts doubt on The Girl Who Played with Fire happening

She can currently be seen in Trash with Hollywood legend Martin Sheen, and whilst she returns to cinemas with the fantasy epic Pan alongside X-Men franchise legend Hugh Jackman in July, Rooney Mara has cast some doubt on the likelihood of the announced sequel to Girl With the Dragon Tattoo happening.
Talking to E! News, the sought after actress who portrayed Lisbeth Salander in the 2011 remake of the phenomenal Girl With the Dragon Tattoo stated “I don't think it's going to happen, I'm sad never to do it again, but it just doesn't seem like it's in the cards."
Director David Fincher previously said that he is still hoping to make The Girl Who Played with Fire and appeared confident of the chances of the sequel happening.
Mara was nominated for a Best Actress Academy Award for her role in the adaptation of Stieg Larsson's best-selling novel which saw her star alongside Spectre star Daniel Craig and Hollywood icons Christopher Plummer and Stellan Skarsgård.
Mara will next be seen as Tiger Lily in the aforementioned Pan from prolific filmmaker Joe Wright on July 17.
