Its fair to say that Considine is one of the finest brit actors working in the industry today, having spent much of his early career collaborating with long time friend and director Shane Meadows, together making mockumentaries, short films, music videos and many other examples of british filmmaking at its most creative.
Together the pair of them have dominated the british film industry, producing some fantastic pieces of work such as the lo fi british revenge thriller, Dead Mans Shoes which really gave Considine the recognition he deserved. As well as roles in 24 Hour Party People, Stoned, Hot Fuzz, The Bourne Ultimatum and the standout brit film of 2010, Submarine.
Tyrannosaur marks Considines first feature length turn behind the camera, the film is based on his short film Dog Altogether . Tyrannosaur is the story of an alcoholic, played by the fantastic Peter Mullan who forms a close bond with a local chairty shope owner, the much underrated Olivia Coleman (of Peep Show fame). Both actors starred in the original short and have been brought back together for the feature, as well as the addition of british film stalwart, Eddie Marsan.
With a combination of such talent, and based on the strength of Considines short film, Tyrannosaur could be this years Submarine. The film opens Octorber 24th
