09 January 2020

Also coming to STARZPLAY UK in February – the American Modern Noir Drama, “Perpetual Grace, LTD” starring Oscar® Winner Sir Ben Kingsley

STARZPLAY, the premium streaming service from Starz, has announced the premiere date for the hotly-anticipated second season of “Castle Rock,” the hit horror television series from the mind of Stephen King. All 10 episodes will premiere in the UK, Germany, Italy and Latin America on Thursday, 13th February 2020. Also coming to the platform in February is “Perpetual Grace LTD,” which will debut all 10 episodes on Thursday, 6th February.

In this second installment, Misery arrives in the town of Castle Rock with Lizzy Caplan playing a young version of Stephen King’s nurse from hell from his novel Misery. In season two of this psychological-horror series, a feud between warring clans comes to a boil when budding psychopath Annie Wilkes gets waylaid in Castle Rock. Set in the Stephen King multiverse, Castle Rock combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out in a few square miles of Maine woodland. The fictional Maine town of Castle Rock has figured prominently in King’s literary career: Cujo, The Dark Half, IT and Needful Things, as well as novella The Body and numerous short stories such as Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption, are either set in or contain references to Castle Rock.

The series stars Lizzy Caplan (“Masters of Sex,” Mean Girls), Paul Sparks (“Sweetbitter”, “House of Cards”), Barkhad Abdi (Blade Runner 2049, Captain Phillips), Yusra Warsama (The Last Days on Mars), Elsie Fisher (Despicable Me, The Addams Family), Matthew Alan (“Sons of Anarchy,” “13 Reasons Why”) and Tim Robbins (“Here and Now,” Mystic River, The Shawshank Redemption). Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason return for season two as executive producers and showrunners. The show is also executive produced by Stephen King and Bad Robot’s J.J. Abrams and Ben Stephenson, in addition to Vince Calandra, Liz Glotzer and Greg Yaitanes. Produced by Bad Robot and Warner Bros. Television, the series is distributed globally by Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Distribution.

Perpetual Grace LTD” follows James (Jimmi Simpson), a young grifter, as he attempts to prey upon Pastor Byron Brown (Sir Ben Kingsley), who turns out to be far more dangerous than James suspects. The pastor and his wife Lillian (Jacki Weaver), known to their parishioners as Pa and Ma, have used religion to swindle hundreds of innocent people out of their life savings in Half Acre, NM.

The series stars Kingsley (Gandhi), Simpson (“Westworld,” “House of Cards”), Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook, Animal Kingdom), Luis Guzman (“Narcos,” “Code Black”) and Terry O’Quinn (“Lost,” “Patriot”). “Perpetual Grace LTD” is executive produced by Steve Conrad (“Patriot,” Wonder), who also directs the series, and Bruce Terris (“Patriot,” “Empire”), Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch and is produced by MGM Television.
