Known to generations the World over as Princess Leia Organa in the iconic Star Wars Saga, American actress, screenwriter, author, producer, and speaker, Carrie Fisher has passed away following a heart attack.

A spokesperson for the family released the following statement on behalf of Carrie's daughter Billie Lourd "It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning. She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly."

Carrie’s mother and Hollywood legend Debbie Reynolds thanked generations of fans for embracing "the gifts and talents of [her] beloved and amazing daughter" over the last 40 years writing on Facebook “I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers that are now guiding her to her next stop.”

It is with a heavy heart that we look back at her career on the silver screen, Rest In Peace Carrie, Gone but Never Forgotten...




Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)

Carrie reprised her role of Princess Leia Organa, now a General in the Resistance.

A group of sorority sisters try to cover up the death of their house-sister after a prank gone wrong, only to be stalked by a serial killer.

Carrie portrayed Mrs. Crenshaw the house mother of the Theta Pi Sorority.




When Harry Met Sally... (1989)

Harry and Sally have known each other for years, and are very good friends, but they fear sex would ruin the friendship.

Carrie portrayed Marie.




Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (1983)

After rescuing Han Solo from the palace of Jabba the Hutt, the rebels attempt to destroy the second Death Star, while Luke struggles to make Vader return from the dark side of the Force.

Carrie portrayed Princess Leia.




Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

After the rebels have been brutally overpowered by the Empire on their newly established base, Luke Skywalker takes advanced Jedi training with Master Yoda, while his friends are pursued by Darth Vader as part of his plan to capture Luke.

Carrie portrayed Princess Leia.




Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977)

Luke Skywalker joins forces with a Jedi Knight, a cocky pilot, a wookiee and two droids to save the galaxy from the Empire's world-destroying battle-station, while also attempting to rescue Princess Leia from the evil Darth Vader.

Carrie portrayed Princess Leia Organa.

As well as the Star Wars Saga, Carrie has also lent her voice to the character of Angela in Seth MacFarlane’s Family Guy, she played Pauline Kahn on Smallville and featured as herself in The Big Bang Theory.

Carrie will next be seen in Star Wars: Episode VIII where she will reprise her role of General Leia Organa.
