Psychological Thriller ARTIFICIO CONCEAL Nominated for Best Short Film Award at Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF)
Mark Adams, Artistic Director of the 2015 Edinburgh Film Festival, has announced their line-up of films which includes the intriguing new British film ARTIFICIO CONCEAL, written and directed by Ayoub Qanir, whose previous acclaimed films include Koyakatsi and Human After All.
ARTIFICIO CONCEAL features a strong all-British cast and crew and was filmed in London late last summer. Starring David Bailie (Pirates of the Caribbean); Simon Armstrong (Game of Thrones); Nick Cornwall (Blood Loyal), Andrew Whipp (Amazing Grace), Stephen McDade (Guardians of the Galaxy) and introducing rising star Duran Fulton-Brown who said: “I believe we're in involved in a pioneering project, and I share the strong belief that it will continue for many years to come.”
ARTIFICIO CONCEAL tells the compelling story of a man who awakens in an Interpol interrogation room to find his mind ‘hacked’; his memories replaced, and his identity lost. As the engineer of the world’s most precise Quantum Logic clock, he must discover who hacked his nervous system and stole the device responsible for time itself. His quest to identify the perpetrator leads him through time and space to a thrilling conclusion that even he could never have envisaged.
Writer/director Qanir- who has recently returned from the South of France where the film was accepted at the 2015 Cannes Court Métrage - is making his first trip to Edinburgh next month. He said: “I am delighted the film has been nominated for competition at the EIFF. The festival has announced an impressive line-up of films and events, and I am not only honoured that Artificio Conceal is among them, but I am very much looking forward to the whole Edinburgh experience.”
