Rare outtakes of Cameron, Kate and Leo in new Titanic paperback book
Harper Design have released an all-new paperback edition of the best-seller James Cameron's Titanic, which features 26 never-before-seen images from the film studio's archive, some of which we have added to the Fan Carpet gallery. (More to Follow!)
We particularly like the shot of Kate's dress being testing in the hotel pool, probably at the stage of principal photography. How would it look on camera? in promotional still's? and how would it wear when wet? It just goes to show how every fine detail that we as fans don't even consider, doesn't go a miss.
We also dug out some rare footage of Kate Winslet's original screen test for Titanic, one can't help but be completely thrown off by the actor reciting Jack's lines. It's Jeremy Sisto who we all knew from Clueless. Sisto's deep voice and athletic 6'2" stature is in glaring contrast to DiCaprio's more spry depiction of Jack.
Not to worry, Sisto was simply helping director James Cameron out with the screen test, he himself was not auditioning for the part of Jack. (Though we can't rule out that Sisto hoped for the off chance of getting the part. That's how Harrison Ford was cast in the original Star Wars, after all. Ford read the part of Han Solo against other actors who were auditioning for the roles of Luke and Leia. George Lucas had no intention of casting Ford until he realized that no one else who auditioned was any good.)
Titanic is available now on Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray.
