Real Steel helmer Shawn Levy directing Frankenstein

With the release of Real Steel just over a month away, it has long been thought that director Shawn Levy would take on Fantastic Voyage next, but it's reported that he has signed onto direct a new take on the classic horror tome Frankenstein for Fox.
Written by Max Landis, the new film is one of many based on Mary Shelley's timeless classic, and has been described as a sci-fi take on the traditional story focusing on themes of friendship and redemption.
As well as Guillermo del Toro's take on the story, the many Frankenstein projects at varying stages of development include I, Frankenstein, This Dark Endeavor: The Apprenticeship Of Victor Frankenstein and the graphic novel adaptation of Wake The Dead.
Levy is known for his comedic hits including Night At The Museum, Cheaper By The Dozen and Date Night but early indications show that he's onto a winner with robot rumble Real Steel.
