Real Steel siren Evangeline Lilly has faith in The Hobbit production team

03 October 2011

Lost and Real Steel babe Evangeline Lilly has spoken out about working with Peter Jackson on the upcoming  eagerly awaited The Hobbit two part prequel calling the experience "super-inspiring".

Lily who plays playing woodland elf Tauriel in the two-part movie adaptation of JRR Tolkien's book spoke to Access Hollywood at the US premiere of Real Steel and said "We've been working up there for about a month now, and working with Peter Jackson is super-inspiring.

The amount of support that they provide for an actor... as far as every single aspect of your acting is concerned. I have a dialect coach, I have a motion coach, I have a language coach, I have a stunt coach, so I should by rights be great in this film!

If I f**k up, it's my fault! There is so much support for me in New Zealand."

However she reiterated that her character wasn't in the original book but believes the production team's abilities to create a convincing original character adding "I am scared, I am very scared, because my character is actually not in The Hobbit. My character is an invention of Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, so either fans are going to love her or absolutely despise and be bitter towards her because she's not authentic.

I believe that she is truly authentic because Tolkien refers to the woodland elves, he just doesn't talk about who they are specifically... the producers know that world so well and they are not going to create a character that is not true to Tolkien's world."

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is due to be released on December 14, 2012 and features a brilliant cast including Cate Blanchett, Martin Freeman, Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood, Christopher Lee, Hugo Weaving, Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, James Nesbitt, Graham McTavish, Ian Holm, Lee Pace, Stephen Fry, Benedict Cumberbatch, Luke Evans, Barry Humphries and Richard Armitage.
