LG’s advert ‘So Real it’s Scary’ is the most profitable and most viewed Halloween adverts

‘Haunted Hotels for Halloween’ by hotel giant Booking.com is the least most successful advert analysed.

Two leading supermarkets feature in the list – Tesco is the fourth most popular with their 360° Halloween House advert, whilst, Lidl is 12th with their Lidl Monster Market

The scariest night of the year is fast approaching, and the world of marketing over the years has fully embraced the spirit of All Hallows’ Eve; plunging into a world of ghoulish adverts and campaigns.

Whilst Halloween is a one-day-only event, it is a unique opportunity for businesses and brands to showcase an advert and promote their business.

It goes without saying, the world of media has been spooked by some of the world’s leading brands, and their Halloween adverts over the years, and whilst some are scary, there are some that are silly and some that are unintentionally eerie.

To celebrate how brands have capitalised on Halloween, Reboot Online Video Marketing has investigated 16 of the most notable Halloween adverts of all time, ranking those with the most YouTube views, as well as the brands that cash in the most per advert.

To achieve this, Reboot Online inserted the URL link to each YouTube video into the YouTube Money Calculator by Influencer Marketing Hub, which estimates total earnings by video.

THE RESULTS

• LG’s advert ‘So Real it’s Scary’, has fetched more than 47million hits on YouTube, generating a whopping $87,739 to date. It is the most profitable and most viewed Halloween adverts analysed in this study. 


• Snickers and Skittles follow - their adverts have 2,157,636 and 1,387,433 views respectively. Both brands also generously profit $3,992 and $2,567 per advert since first airing.


• Online hotel booking giants, Booking.com rank as the “least successful” advert, with their 2013 advert ‘Haunted Hotels for Halloween’ with just 1,333 views on YouTube (last place), whilst making a mere $2. 


• Last year’s hit from Burger King, titled ‘Scary Clown Night’ may have spread like wildfire across the news, and shuddered every viewer who dared to watch. But interestingly, the video marketing advert has provided a profit of $573 from its 309,892 views.
