Rise of the Planet of the Apes – Breaking News – Live WETA Streaming: Apes Revealed

13 April 2011

The Fan Carpet are very excited to announce a special live stream event for 20th Century Fox' Rise of the Planet of the Apes which is released in UK cinemas on August 12th 2011. Live from WETA: Apes Revealed!

OSCAR® Winning VFX house (Avatar, Lord of the Rings) will provide a behind the scenes look at the magic rendering, for the first time in the film series, a photo real ape.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes is a completely new take on one of 20th Century Fox's most beloved and successful franchises. Oscar®-winning visual effects house Weta Digital – employing certain of the groundbreaking technologies developed for Avatar – will render, for the first time ever in the film series, photo-realistic apes rather than costumed actors.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes is an origin story in the truest sense of the term. Set in present day San Francisco, the film is a reality-based cautionary tale, a science fiction/science fact blend, where man's own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy.

Starring an all star cast including James Franco,  Brian Cox, Andy Serkis, John Lithgow and Freida Pinto and directed by Rupert Wyatt the film sees a UK release on August 18. The live streaming event will take place tonight, 9.18pm GMT.
