Rooney Mara wanted for Brooklyn

27 April 2012

Following yesterday's report that The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo's Rooney Mara was being courted to replace Carey Mulligan for Spike Jonze, comes word that the sought after talent is attached to the upcoming romance Brooklyn from the producers of An Education.

Based on a novel by Colm Toibin and adapted for screen by Nick Hornby, Brooklyn would see the gorgeous Mara as a girl from a small Irish town who finds herself torn between two cities and two men.

This marks the third collaboration between producers Finola Dwyer and Amanda Posey have collaborated with Hornby and the pair are also producing an adaptation of his novel A Long Way Down which is set to start shooting in September.

As for Mara, she is currently filming Steven Soderbergh's The Bitter Pill with Contagion's Jude Law.
