Russell Brand joining Diablo Cody’s Lamb of God

With Diablo Cody the writer of the likes of Juno, Jennifer’s Body and the upcoming Young Adult making her directorial debut with her religious comedy drama Lamb of God word is that Russell Brand has been offered a lead role.
Lamb of God follows a young religious woman who loses her faith following a plane crash. Attempting to recover from serious burns, she decides to head to Vegas and indulge in the sinful life she’s been warned against all her days. But even as she does so, she finds that she’s set on a path back to her beliefs.
Brand is apparently up for the role of William, a bartender that the girl befriends and while there isn't any solid casting for the main lead as yet, rumours point to Brand's Rock of Ages co star Julianne Hough as the front runner.
Brand has had somewhat of a roller coaster of roles recently, his remake of Arthur stumbled at the box office, while his largely off screen role in Hop proved to be more of a hit.
Lamb of God will likely be controversial but could prove to be a solid choice for the British born comedian.
