1917 continues its phenomenal run at the UK box office becoming eOne’s highest grossing release, overtaking The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 (£35.8m), with a current box office of £36.5m.

The WWI epic from Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes, has garnered critical acclaim and numerous awards, most recently picking up three Academy Awards for Best Cinematography, Best Sound Mixing and Best Visual Effects as well as seven British Academy Film Awards including Outstanding British Film and Best Film.

Kezia Williams, Managing Director, UK, Film for eOne said “This milestone marks a very proud moment for us all at eOne. We are delighted to see 1917 continue to achieve such fantastic results at the box office and thrilled that audiences across the country continue to flock to cinemas to enjoy this monumental film on the big screen. The film is produced by Mendes and Pippa Harris (Revolutionary RoadAway We Go) for their Neal Street Productions, Jayne-Ann Tenggren (associate producer, Spectre), Callum McDougall (executive producer, Mary Poppins ReturnsSkyfall) and Brian Oliver (RocketmanBlack Swan).
