Sam Worthington partners with Radical Comics for ‘Damaged’

03 July 2010

'Avatar' and 'Clash Of The Titans' star Sam Worthington is set to bring 'Damaged' to the big screen.

'Damaged' is a comic book series co-created by Michael and John Schwarz, who, not coincidentally, are Worthington's partners in his newly formed production company Full Clip. The three have signed a deal with Radical to "develop intellectual property" for the publisher: comics specifically created with movie adaptations in mind. "As a lifelong fan of comics, I'm excited to have the chance to create material which I can then personally bring to life on screen," said Sam.

"We are thrilled to have Full Clip in the Radical family," said Radical Studios President Barry Levine. "An imprint deal of this nature is unprecedented in the industry, and we couldn't ask for better partners than Sam, Michael and John."
Development on 'The Last Days of American Crime' has certainly marked the start of a beautiful relationship between Radical Comics and Worthington, interesting. It's like a little indie Marvel empire (as well as Last Days, Radical are also behind Legends: The Enchanted), except that some of the comics don't exist yet. There are few details on Damaged so far apart from the press-release info that the story involves two brothers nearing retirement, one a cop and one a vigilante, training their respective replacements in a violently changing world. Stray Bullets' Eisner Award-winning David Lapham is writing the script.
