Saoirse Ronan surprised with The Host physicality

29 May 2012

While her Snow White adaptation has been stalled by Disney, Oscar nominated actress Saoirse Ronan has spoken out about her upcoming dual role in Stephenie Meyer's The Host.

The sought after actress who takes the lead as Melanie Stryder and the alien called Wanderer tells MTV News that she was surprised by  the physical requirements for the role revealing "I didn't expect it to be so physical. I've been on a harness quite a bit."

It appears to have been a welcomed surprise as the actress added that she has particularly enjoyed performing the stunts the film required, including jumping considerable distances with the aid of a harness "It was 30 feet in the air, so that was pretty cool."

The Host tells the story of an alien invasion in which aliens called 'Souls' invade the bodies of humans and wipe out their victims' consciousness and it lands in cinemas on March 29 next year featuring Diane Kruger, William Hurt and Frances Fisher.
