Sarah Gadon could be The Amazing Spider-Man franchise’s Mary Jane Watson

Following the news that Shailene Woodley has departed The Amazing Spider-Man 2, it has emerged that Cosmopolis babe Sarah Gadon has joined the Marc Webb directed film in an unnamed role. Entertainment Tonight reports that Gadon could take on the role of Mary Jane Watson, who is expected to be the romantic lead in The Amazing Spider-Man 3 and 4. Gadon has Amma Asante's Belle with Matthew Goode, Denis Villeneuve's Enemy alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Peter Lepeniotis's The Nut Job in post production and will also be seen alongside Fast & Furious 6 villain Luke Evans in Gary Shore's Dracula and reunites with David Cronenberg and Robert Pattinson for Maps to the Stars. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set to hit cinemas on April 18 2014 and features Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Sally Field, Martin Sheen, Dane DeHaan, Paul Giamatti, Colm Feore, Felicity Jones, Chris Cooper and Marton Csokas.
