Scarlett Johannson wants more action in The Avengers

13 September 2011

Gorgeous actress Scarlett Johansson is reportedly insisting that her Black Widow in Joss Whedon's superhero team up The Avengers not be a token woman in the eagerly awaited film.

According to ShowbizSpy, Johansson is getting extra action scenes in the film to put her on par with the boys "Scarlett is making a point of not being the token woman in the movie, she has had extra action scenes already but is still wanting more. She's also been very reluctant to have her character be a love interest for the male heroes. Scarlett wants Black Widow to be on a level with the guys if not even more super!"

Johansson stars with Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Paul Bettany, Gwyneth Paltrow, Stellan Skarsgård, Tom Hiddleston, Clark Gregg and Jenny Agutter.

The Avengers hits cinemas on May 4, but for everyone who loves Scarlett Johansson, she'll next be seen in the Cameron Crowe written and directed We Bought A Zoo when it comes to cinemas on December 23 and stars Matt Damon and Elle Fanning.
