Shame’s Michael Fassbender set to take on Irish Myths

18 February 2012

Sought after actor Michael Fassbender famed for the likes of X-Men: First Class and the impressive 2012 releases of Haywire, Shame and A Dangerous Method has reportedly signed on to Irish Myths.

The script is being written by Public Enemies scribe Ronan Bennett and will focus on the Ulster Myth Cycle from Irish mythology, with Fassbender set to take the role of the heroic Cuchulain who is compared to Achilles for his short life and subsequent fame.

Cuchulain is also known for his battles with monstrous beings that could look amazing on the big screen.

Meanwhile Fassbender will next be seen in Ridley Scott's Prometheus as the android David and will be gearing up to reteam with Steve McQueen for Twelve Years a Slave.
