Sir Michael Caine attached to Shakespearean Sci-fi Henry5

04 November 2010

Sir Michael Caine and a whole host of British acting talent including Ray Winstone and Sir Derek Jacobi are amongst the stars to be attached to Darclight Films' Shakespearean sci-fi Henry5.

Henry5 sees an apocalyptic vision of the future in a world torn apart by deceit and conflict, and follows a prince who sees a chance to save his kingdom by crushing a rebellion. But when he ascends to the throne himself, he discovers that absolute power corrupts absolutely, and to sate his need for conflict, he launches a war against a seemingly invincible neighbouring state. Despite the enemy’s overwhelming force, he scores a victory, only to learn that while he’s willing to do anything to win, so are his opponents.

Sir Michael Caine is showing no signs of slowing down, he is signed on to star as Alfred Pennyworth in the recently announced The Dark Knight Rises from director Christopher Nolan and stars Christian Bale as the caped crusader. The film will see a release in 2012, before that the veteran acting legend will team with Josh Hutcherson and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson for Jouney 2: The Mysterious Island, the follow up to the 2008 3D extravaganza Journey To The Centre Of The Earth.
