Sleeping Beauty babe Emily Browning nabs role in Catherine Hardwicke’s Plush

27 May 2012

She was last seen as Lucy in Julia Leigh's drama Sleeping Beauty, and while she lost out to Chloe Moretz for the title role in the forthcoming remake of Carrie, word is that Emily Browning has nabbed the lead role in Catherine Hardwicke's upcoming thriller Plush.

The Plush role was originally earmarked for Thirteen babe Evan Rachel Wood, but according to reports scheduling conflicts have prevented her from signing onto the film that was written by Hardwicke and Thirteen scribe Artie Nelson.

Plush is the story of a psychic psychologist who sees the memories of his patients to help them let go of the past. He crosses paths with Browning's character, who also has the same power.

Browning is known for her roles of Violet in Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events and as the heroine Babydoll in Sucker Punch, she currently has Christopher Menaul's Summer in February in post production and recently wrapped filming Magic Magic with The Dark Knight Rises's Juno Temple.
