Spotlight casting call speculates Chewbacca return for Disney’s Star Wars: Episode VII
Whilst no casting has been confirmed for Disney's Star Wars: Episide VII, it has been speculated that Chewbacca may be making a return to the galaxy far, far away.
Den of Geek report that a casting call has been sent out for a male actor over 7ft tall, leading to rumours that the upcoming seventh film will feature a Wookie with the Spotlight casting call reading "Male, 7 ft to 7.3 ft tall with a slim/thin build and upright posture. Not too worked out or too 'thick set' especially in the shoulders. Broad facial features would be a bonus."
While it doesn't specifically mention Star Wars: Episode VII, it lists the creative team of JJ Abrams, Kathleen Kennedy, Bryan Burk and Tommy Harper as the producers of the "Untitled Studio Feature" with an "early 2014" start date.
Recently Abrams said he is aiming for an "emotional and authentic" Star Wars: Episode VII.
British actor Peter Mayhew who is 7ft 3in tall originally played Chewbacca in the Star Wars franchise.
