Star Trek legend William Shatner will not cameo as Kirk Prime in Justin Lin’s Star Trek Beyond
Laying rumours to rest, Star Trek legend William Shatner has revealed that he does not have a cameo in the forthcoming Justin Lin Directed Star Trek Beyond.
Talking to SFX, Shatner said that he won’t appear as Kirk Prime in the eagerly awaited film revealing "There was never a conversation, it would have been interesting to see what their fertile imaginations could have done with somebody who is 20 years older than when Captain Kirk died and how they would have explained the difference in appearance.
But that never came up. I'm sure they must have thought of it one time or another but I never had a substantial conversation about replaying the role."
The notoriously cheeky Shatner's hints at a cameo in Star Trek Beyond came when Roberto Orci was expected to write and direct, the filmaker has since left the project and the writing duo of Simon Pegg and Doug Jung have written the film.
Idris Elba and Sofia Boutella are among the new additions to Star Trek Beyond, they star alongside the returning cast members Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg and John Cho.
