Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens favourite John Boyega joins Director Steven S. DeKnight’s for Pacific Rim 2
Sought after Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens favourite John Boyega has joined the cast of the eagerly anticipated sequel to Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim!
Deadline report that Boyega will play the son of military badass Stacker Pentecost, the commander of the Jaeger forces in del Toro's blockbuster monster movie.
Taking to Twitter, Boyega tweeted "I'll be taking on the Pacific Rim franchise with Steven S.DeKnight directing. Very excited.”
Directed by Steven S DeKnight, del Toro will remain on board as a producer and will help shape the action movie's storyline, and whilst there is no release date yet, it is believed that the sequel will begin production later this year and has August 4 2017 pencilled in on Legendary's calendar.
Boyega will next be seen alongside Emma Watson and Tom Hanks in James Ponsoldt’s The Circle later this year and is currently filming Star Wars: Episode VIII under the Direction of Rian Johnson.
