Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens heroine Daisy Ridley set to Executive Produce The Eagle Huntress
Following the colossal success of Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, break out star Daisy Ridley has signed on to executive produce The Eagle Huntress.
Deadline report that The Eagle Huntress is the true story of a 13 year old Mongolian girl who strives to become the first female Eagle Hunter in 2,000 years.
Speaking about the story, the rising star said "I was deeply moved by Aisholpan's story and wanted to be a part of this beautiful film.
I feel audiences and young girls around the world will be as inspired by her story as I was, and I am so proud to share her journey with the world."
Sharing his thoughts on Ridley, Director Otto Bell said he was delighted the Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens actress will be supporting the film revealing "Like so many other theatregoers around the world, I was blown away by Daisy's recent portrayal of an empowered female protagonist.
I'm thrilled she'll be bringing that same energy to supporting a real-world heroine who is also on an epic journey to win victory in a far away land."
Ridley is currently working on Star Wars: Episode VIII where she will reprise her role of Rey, the eagerly awaited film recently moved from its May date to a release in December 2017. She will also lend her voice to the release of Studio Ghibli's Only Yesterday which arrives in US Theatres on February 26.
