The Starfleet Academy in Partnership with Manpower Invite Trekkers Nationwide to Apply for THE BEST JOB IN THE UNIVERSE

11 November 2016

Trekkers nationwide are invited to explore new career horizons and apply for a once in a light year role as Starfleet Vice-Admiral*. Applicants will be invited to beam up to The Starfleet Temporary Outpost 10 in Central London, to complete the ultimate Trekker test for ‘the best job in the universe.’

The candidate who proves themselves able to take command of Starbase Yorktown, will receive an official uniform recently used in the production of Star Trek Beyond and a VIP visit to Paramount Studio Lot in Los Angeles. Star Trek Beyond releases on 4K Ultra HD™, Blu-ray™ and Blu-ray 3D™ on November 21st.

On Friday 18th November at zero eight hundred hours (08:00AM), a temporary Starfleet Outpost will take off at leading recruitment agency Manpower UK’s Liverpool Street based offices (1st Floor, New Chapter House, 14 New St, London EC2M 4HE). Ambitious commanders looking to make their mark on the fringes of known space, must register their interest to attend and take part in The Starfleet-approved test before the 17th of November.

The ultimate Trekker test, designed by die hard Star Trek fan and Empire Online editor-in-chief, James Dyer, will determine if candidates have what it takes to run a state-of-the-art Starbase. The out of this Galaxy Trekker test will be conducted by Manpower’s very own recruiters at the immersive pop-up event.

“We are delighted to be working with Starfleet HQ to recruit the honorary role of Vice Admiral of Yorktown. This includes our ability to identify and place the best talent within organisations. Our project with Starfleet HQ will be no exception - we’ve set a challenging interview process for the Vice Admiral of Yorktown and are looking forward to seeing the result.” – Krissie Davies, Operations Director, Manpower UK.

Candidates are encouraged to wear gear fit for the occasion to prove a solid dedication to the Star Trek Universe. The winner, to be announced on Monday 21st November, will be outfitted in an official Starfleet uniform and transported to temporary posting at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles, California for orientation**.

Trekkers who would relish the excitement of working on the galactic frontier, or feel capable of commanding the Starbase Yorktown, are invited to register their interest at [email protected] to receive a link to the event and claim their tickets.
