STARZPLAY A Lionsgate Company Releases Poster And Global Premiere Date For Season Two Of The Trailblazing Series VIDA

STARZPLAY ANNOUNCES SEASON TWO PREMIERE DATE AND FULL SEASON RELEASE FOR THE CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED SERIES “VIDA,” SET TO DEBUT THURSDAY, 23 MAY, WITH OFFICIAL TEASE POSTER

STARZPLAY announced today that the second season of the trailblazing series “Vida” will premiere on Thursday, 23 May, 2019 on STARZPLAY in the UK and Germany. All 10 half-hour episodes will be made available on STARZPLAY in the UK and Germany as well as on the STARZ app and STARZ On-Demand in the U.S. and Canada.

“Certified Fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes with a perfect score of 100% and Audience Award–winner at the 2018 SXSW Film Festival, “Vida” is created, and executive produced by Tanya Saracho; Big Beach TV’s Robin Schwartz, Peter Saraf and Marc Turtletaub; and Stephanie Langhoff (“Togetherness,” The Bronze, The Skeleton Twins). In addition, “Vida” Season Two will make its world premiere as an Official Selection of the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival.

“Vida” stars Melissa Barrera (“Club de Cuervos”) as Lyn, Mishel Prada (“Fear the Walking Dead: Passage”) as Emma, Ser Anzoategui (“East Los High”) as Eddy, Chelsea Rendon (Bright) as Marisol, Carlos Miranda (The Bling Ring) as Johnny — and recently announced — Roberta Colindrez (“I Love Dick”) as Nico, Raúl Castillo (Looking) as Baco and Adrian Gonzalez (“Superstore”) as Rudy.

In the second season of “Vida,” Lyn and Emma begin the monumental task of rebuilding their mother’s legacy — a crumbling bar and apartment building on the east side of Los Angeles — at a time when the local anti-gentrification uprising will stop at almost nothing to call out any and all cultural displacers. While navigating such obstacles, Lyn and Emma contemplate the relationships in their lives, including their own, and are forced to dig deep to unearth what their mother’s legacy means to them.

The STARZPLAY premium streaming service gives subscribers access to acclaimed series like “Mr. Mercedes” and “The Royals” along with its growing selection of exclusive STARZ Originals on the same day they launch in the U.S., including “Counterpart” and “The Spanish Princess” as well as hit movies like The Hunger Games.
