Suicide Squad Trailer gets more views than Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer and more from the DCCU

24 July 2015

After the huge last couple of weeks with both Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad trailers taking San Diego Comic-Con and the internet by storm.

With both getting a lot of views, the surprising thing is David Ayer’s super villain film has attracted over two and a half million more views then Zack Snyder’s Justice League prequel, making the views to date for Suicide Squad being (as of today) 39,216,256 views compared to 36,617,851 for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Even though two and a half million isn’t big, it’s still interesting and a number of factors could contribute firstly people not knowing what the Suicide Squad is about, it’s the first time we’ve seen a live action Harley Quinn and everyone showing interest in Jared Leto’s Joker and a lot of them will be 30 Seconds To Mars fans.

One of the most awesome/interesting clip we saw in the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer was seeing Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman on the big screen and the big thing which happened silenced a lot of critics, but the Israeil actress isn’t worried about the fanboys saying “No matter what you do, you can never please them all” in a recent interview in Interview magazine.

“People will always have something to say because that’s the way people are. And it’s okay. But for me, it’s my job. It’s my career. It’s my art. Whatever I do, I take it very seriously and I do my research and I give it my best. I just want to be able to shine and inspire people.”

Gadot has a lot of pressure on her shoulders as she’ll be starring in the first female-led superhero film (if the 2017 solo Woman Woman goes to plan) who is also one of pop culture’s primary feminist icons but the 30 year old is more pumped than anything.

“Oh, my God, I’m so excited about this role,” Gadot added. “I feel like I’ve been given a huge opportunity to inspire people, not only women. And not because of me but because of who Wonder Woman is and what she stands for. There’s a lot of responsibility. But I have the best team and the best people to work with. It’s going to be an amazing ride, knock on wood.”

Finally, there’s been rumours that Zack’s son Eli could be in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as a certain Boy Wonder. According to Heroic Hollywood, Eli will be playing the dead Robin in a flashback sequence with Jared Leto.

It makes sense because Eli is athletic and was the starting quarterback for his high school, Maranatha High Varsity Football, he’s 6’0 and weighs 174 pounds so he would be ideal to play robin before he gets killed.

Before you scream and shout HE WON’T BE JASON TODD/RED HOOD this will be a dream/flashback sequence and I doubt we’ll see his face.

Zack even when on his Instagram with a picture of him with his son simply saying “Boy wonder?”

What do you think? Do you want a flashback sequence or should it be kept until the solo Batman film? Are you excited for Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman? Are you surprised Suicide Squad getting more views than Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice?
