Sundance Film Festival: London Brings Forward Dates to 2 – 5 June at Picturehouse Central

18 January 2016

As the 2016 Sundance Film Festival kicks off on Thursday in Park City, Utah, U.S.A., Sundance Institute and Picturehouse have adjusted the previously announced 2016 dates for the Sundance Film Festival: London to 2 – 5 June at Picturehouse Central. The festival will feature the international and UK premieres of films from the 2016 edition of the renowned Sundance Film Festival.

Clare Binns, Director of Programming and Acquisitions at Picturehouse, comments: “Picturehouse and Sundance Institute have taken the decision to adjust our 2016 dates in order to find the ideal place amongst the UK film and event calendar in June. The new dates offer maximum opportunity for UK and London film fans to see a wide range of new independent films this June.”

The 2016 London program will be announced this spring. Hosted at Picturehouse Central for the first time, the Sundance Film Festival: London will build on the success of Sundance London, hosted from 2012 to 2014 which featured the international and UK premieres of films including Fruitvale Station, Obvious Child, Frank, The Trip to Italy, The Queen of Versailles, Blackfish, Upstream Colour and The Look of Love.

The festival was attended by filmmakers, artists and supporters including HRH The Prince of Wales, Michael Fassbender, Gemma Arterton, Ryan Reynolds, Gina Rodriguez, Lake Bell, Jimmy Carr, the Eagles, Peaches, David Cross, Rose McGowan, Minnie Driver and Rufus Wainwright.
