Susan Sarandon and Richard Gere start shooting Arbitrage in NYC

12 April 2011

Richard Gere and Susan Sarandon are teaming up again in upcoming indie flick Arbitrage. Sarandon and Gere starred together in 2004's rom-com Shall We Dance with Jennifer Lopez, and are once again set to play husband and wife. This time the story doesn't seem like things will be quite as rosy as Arbitrage is about a New York City's dodgy hedge fund industry and will be directed by Nicholas Jarecki from his own screenplay and will also star Tim Roth and Brit Marling.

Gere plays a hedge fund magnate who, in his desperation to complete a fraudulent sale to a major bank, commits an error that forces him to entrust an unlikely ally. Sarandon is cast as his wife, and it is assumed that Marling will play his art dealer mistress. (Eva Green was originally tied to that role, but her name dropped off the radar shortly after Marling's surfaced.) Variety reports Roth will play Detective Michael Gower who's "investigating a murder."

Shooting has already began in NYC as you can see from our pictures, and will continue until June. Arbitrage is set for a US 2012 release.
