The much-lauded TV adaptation of Sally Rooney’s international literary phenomenon, Normal People, arrives on digital download for fans and viewers to own from 3 July. This exquisite and compulsive modern love story will be released on the following digital platforms: iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Sky Store and Virgin Media.

Starring Daisy Edgar-Jones (War Of The Worlds, Cold Feet) as Marianne and Paul Mescal, in his first television role, as Connell, the series follows these two people navigating adulthood in contemporary Ireland, and their complicated relationship from the end of their school days in Sligo to their undergraduate years at Trinity College. It also stars Sarah Greene (Dublin Murders, Rosie) and Aislin McGuckin (Outlander).

 

 

Audiences the world over have fallen for this honest, smart and intoxicating storyline that sees the pair weave in and out of each other’s lives, exploring how complicated intimacy and young love can be. From record-breaking numbers of viewers to sold-out Connell replica chains, the show has also amassed an array of global celebrity fans from Winona Ryder and Kourtney Kardashian to James Corden and Jodie Comer; firmly establishing Normal People at the centre of the cultural narrative of 2020. 

Sally Rooney adapted her coming-of-age book with Alice Birch along with Irish playwright Mark O’Rowe. Normal People is directed by the Oscar-nominated film-maker Lenny Abrahamson and English director Hettie Macdonald and is produced by the Oscar and BAFTA award-winning production company Element Pictures.

Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe, executive producers of Normal People and co-founders of Element Pictures  said “The response from audiences in the UK, Ireland and the US to Normal People has been overwhelmingly positive. We are delighted that audiences around the world will now have the opportunity to own the show for themselves on digital download.”

A must own for all fans, Normal People will be available to download from 3 July from iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and Virgin Media at £14.99 HD and from 13 July on Sky Store .   The series will be released on DVD later this year.
