Teresa Palmer reveals intimidation of Warm Bodies role

12 February 2013

Warm Bodies is out now in cinemas nationwide, and gorgeous Aussie actress Teresa Palmer who stars as Julie in the rom-com-zom has admitted that she was reluctant to take the lead role.

Warm Bodies sees Palmer as a human survivor of a zombie plague, who finds herself falling in love with a mumble-mouthed zombie called R (Nicholas Hoult) and in an interview with Buzzine Film she revealed "I was initially very intimidated about the idea that I drive the movie with the dialogue, R can't really express himself verbally, so he's limited to grunts and groans, but Nicholas Hoult is such a phenomenal actor that he was able to really give me so much to work with.

He was very expressive with his eyes and his body language was amazing, and I felt like he was speaking volumes without actually opening his mouth and saying any words. That's just a testament to the talent that he is."

Speaking about the comparisons with film franchises such as The Twilight Saga and The Hunger Games, Palmer added "I think we're really embracing the comparisons to the other genre movies. Hunger Games and Twilight are obviously hugely successful franchises, but it is our own film.

It's very edgy and it's different, and I think at the core of what this story is, it's really about how love can heal us and love breathes life back into people. That is what I think the true story of Warm Bodies is."

Warm Bodies is out now and features John Malkovich and Rob Corddry.

Palmer has a string of films including Love and Honor, Skum Rocks!, Knight of Cups and Parts Per Bill awaiting release dates.
