JOHNNY ENGLISH REBORN has set a new record for national treasure ROWAN ATKINSON with his biggest UK opening ever – rocketing to number 1 and taking an impressive £4.96 million over the weekend.

Beating Bean, Johnny English and Mr. Bean's Holiday JOHNNY ENGLISH REBORN is the highest three day opening of Atkinson’s film career.

In the years since the most unlikely intelligence officer in Her Majesty’s Secret Service, MI7, vanished off the grid, he has been honing his unique skills in a remote region ofAsia. But when his agency superiors learn of an attempt against the Chinese premier’s life, they must hunt down the highly unorthodox agent. Now that the world needs him once again, Johnny English is back in action.

Starring alongside Atkinson in JOHNNY ENGLISH REBORN are Gillian Anderson (The X-Files, Bleak House) as MI7’s director, Pamela Thornton (aka Pegasus);Dominic West (The Wire, John Carter) as Special Agent Simon Ambrose (aka Agent One); Rosamund Pike (Barney’s Version, Pride & Prejudice) as MI7’s behavioural psychologist and object of English’s affection, Kate Sumner; Daniel Kaluuya (Skins, Psychoville) as the greenest agent on the force, Tucker; and Richard Schiff as ex-CIA agent Fisher.
