The Chiswick Cinema Hosted As The Winners Were Announced For The Annual FIDOS Awards In Association With All Dogs Matter

“Forget the Oscars, the Fidos are best in show.”
The Fidos – For Incredible Dogs On Screen – awards prizes for on screen dog performances over the year. The event takes place around the time of the Oscars and BAFTAs and are the sister ceremony of the Palm Dog Awards held annually at the Cannes Film Festival. As the Guardian wrote “Forget the Oscars, the Fidos are best in show.”
This year has been especially blessed with stand out dog performances in films as varied as The Banshees of Inisherin, Elvis and Lady Chatterley’s Lover.
The Fidos are awarded in five categories; Blockbuster Bowser, Comedy Canine, Rom Com Rover, Historical Hound and Mutt Moment. From the winners in these sections an outstanding performance will be chosen and named Best in World. Also awarded is FiDogManitarian in honour those who celebrate the bond between canines and the human race.
A portion of the ticket price will be donated to All Dogs Matter. All Dogs Matter is a dog rescue and rehoming charity working in and around London to transform the lives of unwanted and abandoned dogs. Any support will go towards helping with the current dog rescue crisis in the UK.
Blockbuster Bowser
Winner: Cocaine Bear - Veteran police detective Bob’s adorable dog, Rosette, a Maltese.

FiDoManitarian 2023 winner: Kean Cao, founder of the upcoming International Animal Future Film Festival
FiDogManitarian is in honour of those who celebrate the bond between canines and the human race.
The Chinese film event is called: Animal - Future - Eco Film Week
It is currently one of the few film events in the world that explores film from the perspective of animals. The aim of the festival is to encourage more filmmakers to make animal films in a harmonious and professional way, and in doing so to raise awareness of how humans should live in harmony with animals in the future.
